Shoes Designed for
People and Planet

Walking lighter on the planet

At Juntos, ESG is not an afterthought. It was built into our design process and drove our decisions from day one—including the decision to become a certified B Corporation. We focus on seven key areas that contribute to a healthier planet, stronger communities, and higher integrity in the retail sector.

Advancing Education

Each year we dedicate a portion of our proceeds to supporting students in need. We partner with Style Saves to provide backpacks full of critical school supplies to underserved students. We also work with Pencils of Promise to support students around the world through teacher training, school builds, and water, sanitation, and hygiene projects.

Choosing Fair Labor

The integrity of our product depends on the integrity of the entire sourcing and manufacturing process. That's why we have partnered with Verité to help us choose responsible partners throughout our supply chain. They ensure that our partners pay fair wages, provide safe working conditions, and respect labor laws and regulations.

Using Renewable Materials

Nearly 100% of the materials in our products come from renewable sources, including alpaca wool, coconut, sugar cane, and banana trees. The small amount of plastic we use comes from recycled sources, and we are constantly working to minimize or eliminate the need for any materials derived from petroleum.

Supporting Regenerative Agriculture

Whenever possible, we partner with suppliers who are preserving and restoring healthy natural ecosystems. For example, our alpaca wool partners actively use just 3% of the 1,800 hectares on their mountain hacienda, high in the Andes of Ecuador. On that 3% of land use, the alpacas are beneficial: their soft feet don't destroy vegetation and cause erosion the way hoofed livestock do, and their droppings fertilize the soil.

Minimizing Our Carbon Footprint

We have partnered with PLANET→FWD to measure and manage our carbon footprint, water usage, and land usage. Their cutting-edge models and analytics allow us to understand the true environmental impact of our products. With their help, we’re committed to taking every step possible to minimize our footprint on the planet.

Promoting Animal Welfare

To eliminate the risk of animal mistreatment in our supply chain, we have committed to sourcing our alpaca wool from just one trusted partner. We know they share our values and treat their animals well, providing excellent care, nutrition, and quality of life at all times.

Transparency and Traceability

One of our key goals is to promote a new culture of openness in retail. That includes making information about our suppliers and service providers readily available to both investors and customers. And if you happen to be in Ecuador and want to see where our alpaca wool comes from, you’re welcome to visit our hacienda and see for yourself.

Diversity in Leadership

The diversity of our leadership team is multi-dimensional, spanning a wide variety of ages, nationalities, ethnicities, and educational backgrounds. Each member of the team brings a perspective to the table, enabling us to maximize our creativity. We’re also a minority- and woman-owned business, committed to helping marginalized groups claim a seat at the table in the retail industry.

Corporate Responsibility

We’re citizens of a diverse world, and we seek to actively engage with people of all backgrounds. A few simple values help us do that: respect, thoughtfulness, fairness, and collaboration. These values guide how we choose to do business every day.
